YOU DON’T OWE ANYONE THEIR PREFERRED FORM OF MEDIA

I’m on Substack, so I see this on Substack Notes (their in-house social media feed) quite often, people crying about the “death of text,” and how “I don’t want short form video.”

It’s like complaining about traffic while sitting in traffic. Being mad that so many people are at the popular destination you’re at.

If you don’t like seeing things on a particular platform, you’re shit out of luck because the platform controls what you see. That’s the whole “algorithm” thing at play.

Don’t like watching the show on TV? Change the channel.

And if you happen to like making videos, MAKE THEM. You don’t owe anyone their preferred form of media.
